Magnet Medical Seeks Experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Magnet Medical, specializing in MRI operations.

About the Role:
  • This is a travel position, with a duration of 13 weeks and a commitment of 36 hours per week.
  • The successful candidate will work on 12-hour shifts, days only.

We offer a competitive salary package, including a tax-free stipend amount to be determined based on individual circumstances.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Pre-Procedure Preparation:
  • Review patient medical history, doctor's orders, and previous imaging studies to ensure appropriate procedure execution.
  • Explain the MRI procedure to patients, addressing questions and concerns to reduce anxiety.
  • Verify patient identity and screening criteria to ensure safety, including checking for implanted devices, allergies to contrast agents, or pregnancy.
  • Prepare and position the MRI room by ensuring equipment readiness.
Conducting MRI Scans:
  • Operate the MRI machine, adjusting settings as prescribed by the physician to obtain high-quality images.
  • Position patients on the MRI table, ensuring comfort and alignment while adhering to safety standards.
  • Administer contrast agents as prescribed by the physician, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Ensure patient stillness during scanning to capture clear, high-resolution images.
Patient Safety and Comfort:
  • Ensure patient safety during procedures, particularly concerning strong magnetic fields.
  • Keep patients informed during scans, providing reassurance and instructions as needed.
  • Monitor patient condition, including vital signs, during scanning to detect any potential issues or discomfort.
Maintenance and Equipment Care:
  • Regularly calibrate the MRI machine, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols.
Collaboration with Medical Team:
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure correct image acquisition and patient needs.
  • Work with healthcare professionals to review images, assess follow-up scan requirements, and discuss patient conditions.
