About the Role

This position is an exciting opportunity to work in the Family Health Services department of the DuPage County Health Department. As a Clinic Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our healthcare team, ensuring the efficient movement of clients through the clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Client Record Management: Updates client records, enters data into computer systems, revises or updates addresses and telephone numbers.
  • Scheduling Appointments: Schedules appointments, ensures release forms or consent forms have been signed, prepares various forms and worksheets.
  • Supply Management: Sets up clinic rooms with appropriate supplies, processes daily reports, monitors on-hand supplies and coordinates replenishment as needed.
  • Patient Assistance: Assists clients with tests such as hemoglobin, blood pressure, and physical measurements.
  • Client Communication: Obtains health histories from patients by conducting patient interviews, follows up on client status, performs duties necessary to close clinics.
  • Training and Development: Maintains required training, licensure, and/or certification.
  • Departmental Requirements: Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality, participates in emergency response activities as assigned, maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws.

Requirements

  • Education: Completion of high school diploma/GED.
  • Experience: One year of experience working in a customer service or human/social services related field preferred.
  • Bilingual Skills: Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
