Objective of the Role

The HVAC Mechanical Technician will deliver on-site support for the upkeep, repair, and operation of HVAC systems. This role involves providing technical guidance to subcontractors, project teams, and junior staff. The technician is accountable for diagnosing equipment issues and utilizing portable testing devices and specialized tools to carry out support tasks. Adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations is paramount to ensure all activities are performed safely. The technician will also guarantee that all necessary information, tools, and components are prepared for efficient task execution.

Qualifications and Expertise

Educational Background

Degree in a technical field (mechanical, electrical, or related disciplines).

Strong ability to troubleshoot electromechanical systems and embedded software.

Relevant experience is essential.

Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, ideally 5-8 years.

Specialized knowledge or cross-functional expertise relevant to the position.

Mid-level understanding of power applications across various industries.

Familiarity with Technician Operation Standards.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical reporting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct a range of tasks including the replacement of faulty components, testing, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Carry out various maintenance duties on HVAC equipment under the guidance of the site supervisor.
  • Document and report incidents of electromechanical equipment failures, performing initial troubleshooting and liaising with engineering or suppliers for solutions as necessary.
  • Notify the logistics department of any damage or shortages of parts/tools to request replacements or order additional supplies.
  • Based on instructions from engineering or suppliers, design and implement testing methods, report findings to improve design and product quality.
