Job Overview

Lone Star Cable Inc, a small business in Dallas, TX, is seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join their team. As a Low Voltage Technician, you will be responsible for the physical installation of structured/low voltage cable, including wire management, pulling Cat-6, fiber, and security cable.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in the field and possess basic hand tools, as well as the ability to use other tools associated with the job, such as snips, crimpers, toners, punch-down tool, ladders, scissor lifts, and harnesses. A strong understanding of industry standards and the ability to accurately read and understand floor plans are also essential.

The successful candidate will be able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances, such as with ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts at 40'+, wires, duct, crawl spaces, attics, above ceilings, etc. They will also be able to take direction from others and complete projects accurately and in a timely, professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Physical installation of structured/low voltage cable
  • Dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
  • Installation and completion of rack and stack(s)
  • Accurately read and understand floor plans
  • Basic hand tools required
  • Ability to use other tools associated with the job
  • Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances
