Progressive Care Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit at Doctors Hospital of Augusta. As a key member of our interdependent team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and achieving positive outcomes.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage cardiac and other critical vital signs, detecting any changes and intervening in life-threatening or emergency situations.
- Respond to Code Blue situations within the facility, initiating protocol, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring as needed.
- Manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for examination, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patients' records, including posting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state in which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- Prior acute care Registered Nurse experience is preferred.
