Award-winning Avera Medical Group Pierre is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our mission-driven organization.

Competitive Compensation:

  • The estimated hourly range for this position is $19.25 - $27.00 per hour.
  • Your actual hourly rate will depend on your level of experience.

About the Role:

  1. Perform selected medical assistant and clerical duties that assist in care for clinic patients following established standards, practices, and competency.
  2. Work collaboratively with other clinic staff to solve practice-related problems.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
  4. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
  5. Sterilize medical equipment according to policy.
  6. Follow correct procedures for handling and disposing of bio-hazardous infectious waste.
  7. Provide back-up help for front desk personnel, including answering telephone calls, scheduling and cancelling appointments, and scheduling consult patients.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with an Associate's degree or diploma.
  • National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Registration as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), or National Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association and Medical Assistant diploma.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday; 72 hours every 2 weeks.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends for urgent care involvement.
