Dental Hygienist

The Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality oral health care to our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide routine oral prophylactic care, including the application of fluoride solutions and gross debridement, scaling, and root planning procedures.
- Clean dental prostheses, fixed and removable, and manage dental recall systems.
- Administer topical anesthetic agents and accomplish all procedures within standard infection-control protocols.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, including individual and group instruction.
- Take radiographic images and utilize dental-imaging safety techniques.
- Demonstrate proper infection-control procedures and prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Assist patients in scheduling appointments and chart findings and treatment provided in patient records.
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Currently licensed to practice as a dental hygienist with a full, current, and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- Knowledge of oral pathology, medical diseases, and conditions related to dental health and treatment.
- Ability to use communication techniques to encourage and inform individuals and groups.
This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule. The work environment is a fast-paced dental clinic with a team-oriented atmosphere.
