Lead Technician for OR Equipment Sterilization

As a Sterile Processing Lead/Supervisor at SCA Health, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality in instrument sterilization and ensuring the area/department is organized and efficient. Your schedule creation will ensure adequate coverage for each day. You will have in-depth knowledge of sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and maintenance and care of instruments and equipment. Additionally, you will engage in practices and procedures of sterile technique and differentiate sterilization and disinfection methods required for specific instruments and equipment. You will also demonstrate the ability to understand and use sterilizers, high-level disinfectors, instrument washers, and other designated processors. Your documentation and record-keeping will be accurate and up-to-date, in accordance with established standards. You will maintain the functions of the instrument processing area/department, performing weekly inventory of processing supplies and notifying appropriate personnel of order needs. You will continue assigned daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly routines, including reports, logs, and related documentation. You will assist teammates with daily preparation for current and future facility schedules, pulling cases and assembling supplies as assigned. You will be available to assist all areas of the facility as needed and assigned, demonstrating flexibility in assuming duties and responsibilities. You will complete all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by facility policy and according to management guidance. You will practice infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained. You will assist with the preparation of the operating room/procedure room for surgery/procedures as directed. Finally, you will check updated schedules every morning and prepare rooms with supplies and equipment as assigned and directed by management.
