We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Kitchen Associate Relief to join our team at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission. As a key member of our nutritional services team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest quality food service experience.

**Responsibilities:**

Assist patients with menu selection and contribute to problem resolution, including follow-up with patients and families.

May assemble and deliver trays per therapeutic diet guidelines and maintain tray lines in a clean, neat, and organized manner.

Deliver food carts to patient care units and return them to the kitchen as designated times.

Operate the dishwashing machine, wash specified items by hand, and put clean dishes and utensils away.

Dispose of trash and garbage in an appropriate manner and as needed.

Mop floors as scheduled and as necessary, and perform cleaning duties as assigned, including walk-in refrigerators, walk-in freezers, and storage areas.

May work all positions on the tray line or retail areas and prepare/assemble hot/cold food (salads, sandwiches, desserts) and nourishments for tray line, patients, and retail areas of responsibility.

**Requirements:**

Ability to communicate effectively with others, explain nutrition-related queries, and have a sound understanding of related terms.

Good listening skills and communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak conversational English and understand food service terms.

Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Ability to utilize the FIFO method and label and date food correctly.

High school education or equivalent and one year of technical experience.

May be required to obtain and maintain state-specific certifications.
