The Building Maintenance Technician II is a key member of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of our facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of maintenance and repair techniques, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and grounds
- Identify and address safety-related issues to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in monitoring apartment make-ready schedules and service requests
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual preventive maintenance
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
- Attend meetings and staff development activities as assigned
- Maintain proper work order procedures and related documentation
- Carry out after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage as scheduled
- Act as a mentor to Maintenance Technician I
- Inventories building supplies
- Predictable, consistent attendance
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of previous maintenance technician experience
- Knowledge of all hand and power tools and their uses
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, insurance verification, and good driving record
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with residents and employees
- At least 3 years of direct experience in building maintenance or trade school certificate
- CFC certifications desired
- CAMT certification desired
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Some work-related travel
- Must be capable of using an extension ladder to make repairs as needed
- Must be able to perform emergency maintenance
- Bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, crouching, squatting, lifting (30 to 50 pounds), balancing, standing, sitting, hand/foot motions, walking, seeing (close and distant vision, detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, assess, estimate), depth perception, hearing/listening, speaking/shouting (communicate, discern, convey, express, exchange), use of hands/fingers (grasping, holding, touching), thinking, calculating, memory/recall, exposure to indoor and outdoor environments
- This position is a full-time position expected to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Required to provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency coverage as scheduled or needed
- Expected to work additional hours in preparation for any upcoming REAC inspection at any or all facilities
