Position Overview:

The role of an Early Childhood Educator is to motivate and equip every student with the self-assurance, bravery, and skills necessary to fulfill their aspirations; contribute positively to the community; and engage in lifelong learning.

Responsibilities include delivering instruction and assistance in the designated curriculum areas; utilizing instructional resources and technologies in a fair and effective manner; executing the objectives and aims of the educational district, institution, and/or program; maintaining ongoing communication with students' guardians and caregivers, collaborating with them in the development of their child; designing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum in accordance with district standards; providing both in-person and online learning experiences when appropriate; and working cooperatively with colleagues.

Participation in district and school leadership initiatives is encouraged.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree is required.

A valid teaching license in Minnesota in the relevant field, or a valid Minnesota teaching license in another area with a willingness to obtain an Out of Field Permission.

If not currently licensed, candidates must be willing and eligible to apply for and secure a Tier 1 or 2 license.


Preferred Qualifications:

Skills in classroom management, including mediation and nurturing.

Successful candidates will possess the patience, empathy, and enthusiasm necessary to effectively guide a diverse group of young learners, each with unique needs, abilities, and emotional profiles.

Exceptional organizational and administrative skills are essential for planning curriculum and documenting each child's progress.

Experience working with diverse groups of children and adults from various cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds is highly valued.


Employment Details:

This position is part of the Teachers' bargaining unit.

Salary information can be found on the respective salary grid associated with the bargaining unit.

Work schedules will vary based on site-specific school hours.

Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 1.0
