About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and compassionate Hospital Veterinarian to join our team at Petco. In this role, you'll provide top-notch patient care, perform routine and complex surgical procedures, and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Your expertise will be invaluable in creating a positive experience for our customers and their pets.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent patient care through physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Collaborate with our veterinary specialists and support teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all patient observations, findings, treatments, and interactions.
  • Participate in hospital rounds, sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues to enhance overall patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Current DEA license and Controlled Substance License, if applicable.
  • USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor in emotionally charged situations.
