As a vital member of our clinic, the Veterinary Assistant will assist veterinarians and technicians in both clinical and surgical procedures. Candidates should possess experience in animal handling and restraint, along with strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with clients and colleagues. A commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and delivering outstanding customer service is essential. This full-time position requires working four 10-hour shifts, with flexible scheduling available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with Fear Free animal restraint techniques.
- Manage clinic appointment flow, including preparing estimates, processing payments, and rescheduling.
- Prepare vaccines and medications for administration and dispensing.
- Provide client education on pet care and health.
- Collect patient samples, prepare them for testing, and conduct routine in-house laboratory tests.
- Understand and utilize medical and surgical equipment effectively.
- Prepare patients for treatment and surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
- Monitor anesthetic procedures during surgeries.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of medical and surgical equipment.
