About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). As a key member of our Internal Medicine Associates practice, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and medical assistants to deliver expert team-based primary care.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical exams, and discuss findings with physicians as needed.
  • Apply advanced nursing knowledge to identify, prevent, or solve complex patient care problems.
  • Manage patients in collaboration with physicians, enhancing continuity of care.
  • Perform medically delegated aspects of patient care in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Maintain and practice in accordance with practitioner guidelines and hospital regulations.
  • Monitor patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care.
  • Serve as a resource to staff in areas of expertise.
  • Participate in educational programs for staff within areas of expertise.
  • Evaluate own practice and program efficiency.
  • Identify pertinent nursing and health delivery problems for investigation.
  • Evaluate current research findings and deliver evidence-based care.
  • Responsible for own professional growth and maintenance of required credentials.
  • Maintain standards and educational requirements specific to the position and licensure.
  • Identify own learning needs and goals.
  • Maintain and update clinical knowledge and skills based on current healthcare practice/research.
  • Identify system-wide factors contributing to undesirable outcomes, such as complications.
  • Ensure discretion and confidentiality in handling critical and confidential matters.
  • Comply with institutional, JCAHO, HIPAA, and other regulatory bodies standards.

Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience as an NP in primary care (preferred).
  • MSN required.
  • Current license to practice as an NP in MA required.
