Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Children's Hospital. The successful candidate will provide expert consultation and direct patient care at night shifts, teaching and supporting staff in advanced patient care skills, especially in complex clinical situations.

The Pediatric Nurse Specialist assumes a leadership role by providing on-site expert consultation to Patient Care Services Staff in the Children's Hospital. Key responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and supporting staff to learn patient care skills that may require additional education or training.
  • Direct patient care responsibilities, including managing complex patient and system-related issues.
  • Communicating effectively with the care team to reach consensual decisions in the best interest of the patient.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current NYS Nursing license, BSN preferred.
  • Pediatric/Critical Care certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of recent acute care clinical experience in Pediatrics.
