Position Summary

The Transfer Trailer Truck Driver is responsible for the transportation of various materials including equipment, machinery, and demolition debris to designated sites. This role involves operating different types of trucks such as road tractors and dump trucks, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport materials such as concrete, bricks, and demolition debris to and from various locations.
  • Deliver equipment and machinery to job sites as required.
  • Verify the types of materials being transported and ensure compliance with weight restrictions.
  • Ensure proper loading of materials onto the truck.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking oil, gas, water levels, lights, and tires.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or mechanical issues to management immediately.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving activities.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared for changes in duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Class A Commercial Truck Driver.
  • Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles.
  • Experience with roll-off dumpster operations is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills with dispatch and supervisors.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position.

  • Workdays typically Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday shifts.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to hook up and disengage trailers and roll-off dumpsters.
  • Capable of opening and closing large trailer doors.
  • Skilled in maneuvering through various job sites.
  • Ability to climb in and out of large trucks safely.
