Job Title: Hook Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Hook Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Hanger, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for performing post-machining work on prosthetic hooks and their components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform finishing work, including sanding, aligning, and vulcanizing hook fingers
  • Utilize belt sander, hydraulic press, grinder, heat treat oven, and other equipment as required for the job
  • Interpret work orders and other verbal or written instructions
  • Meet job deadlines and ensure continuous process flow
  • Document actions by electronically recording labor and materials for each job
  • Ensure quality standards are met
  • Verify specifications by measuring and testing completed components
  • Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures
  • Resolve production problems by communicating with peers or supervisors
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience using basic shop hand tools
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Must be detail-focused
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in utilizing the following equipment: belt sander, grinder, hydraulic press, heat treat oven, and torches
  • Sand blasting experience
  • Metal bending experience
