Welder II

Scott Manufacturing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder II to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating arc and heliarc equipment to weld metal cabinets, frames, and small parts.

• Operate arc and heliarc equipment to weld metal cabinets, frames, and small parts
• Set up jobs for welding, obtain and position clamps, and prepare welding wire for feeding
• Level frames for welding, determine proper welding spots, types, and sizes given stress requirements
• Use wrenches, ratchets, grinders, and hand tools as needed
• Service and maintain welding equipment, clean and maintain work area
• Work primarily with other welders, responsible for consistently meeting quality and production standards
• May assist sheet metal, fabrication, grinding, and assembly work crews as needed
• Must consistently and properly wear PPE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
