CesiumAstro is seeking a highly skilled Senior Communication Systems Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, and other space and airborne platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop new algorithms, technologies, and approaches to solve leading-edge problems in wireless communications.
- Work closely with the CesiumAstro technical and strategy teams to prioritize and develop new technologies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in authoring content and developing technical documentation.
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of R&D experience in space communications.
- Strong background in digital signal processing, statistics, linear algebra, communication theory, machine learning, and L1/L2 algorithms.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting and one programming language (ideally Python & C++) and corresponding SW development practices.
- Deep understanding of RF concepts, impairments, and the resulting impact on baseband processing.
- Background and practical experience with FPGA & modern vector processing engines.
- Knowledge of satellite-communications standards (NR NTN, DVB-S2x, CCSDS).
- Ability to carry out independent research and collaborate with a team.
- Ability to hold a security clearance.
- Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
