Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking a skilled School Nurse Specialist to join our team. You will also assist in providing individual health care plans to students, educate staff on student health needs, and participate in staffing of students with health challenges. Additionally, you will provide emergency and supportive care to students as needed, make recommendations for a healthy and safe environment, and maintain student health records. You will also oversee enrollment of students for immunization-compliance and other health-related entrance requirements, communicate with parents and staff, and provide follow-up services and referrals. You will review, document, and supervise the administering of medications, maintain school health clinics, and perform nursing procedures as deemed appropriate. You will also notify the principal and Supervisor of District Health Services in cases of serious illness or accident, staff student health facilities, and assist in health-screening procedures. You will alert the Supervisor of District Health Services of possible health problems of a communicable nature detected among students and staff. This is a competitive compensation package* for employees, including a robust employee benefits offering with access to plan options for supplemental and options plans. CCPS offers plan members an onsite Wellness Center, providing no-cost preventative care, low-cost acute care appointments, behavioral health services, and prescription dispensing for select prescriptions at no additional cost. Responsibilities:

  • Hold First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Preferred experience in a hospital and/or school and community-health nursing.
