Sysco is seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to lead the implementation of prevention-focused Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and security programs. This role will establish, execute, and deliver an OpCo-specific strategy that supports Sysco's overall EHS objectives, including security and crisis preparedness objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program, including maintaining a high level of safety awareness and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects, including hiring, reviewing, coaching, and developing safety specialists.
  • Monitor and report on safety metrics, investigate accidents, and identify causes to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and conduct safety awareness training for managers, supervisors, and employees, including new hire safety orientation.
  • Administer and implement compliance programs required by OSHA and any state-mandated programs, and assist department managers in administering and implementing compliance programs for the Department of Transportation (DOT) and EPA.
  • Communicate with agencies and successfully pass internal and external audits, and support creation of EHS goals for site management and leadership teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • 5 years of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management experience
  • Excellent communication and employee relations skills, ability to analyze and independently solve difficult situations and problems, and effectively use time and resources to accomplish overall initiatives and program goals.
