Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician I to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will play a critical role in the preparation and dispensing of patient medications, ensuring the delivery of these medications to nursing units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and dispense patient medications, including unit-dose medications, sterile products, TPNs, non-sterile medications, hazardous medications, and ADC medications and supplies.
  • Assist pharmacists in processing new medication orders and answering phones.
  • Deliver unit-dose medication carts on time and according to designated workflow.
  • Restock pharmacy work areas, pharmacy satellites, and ADCs with medications and supplies as needed.
  • Inspect medication storage areas for expired or unusable medications.
  • Participate in training new employees in the main pharmacy and limited specialized areas.
  • Participate in the peer review process.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Registered Technician or Technician Trainee.
  • Certification by examination as a pharmacy technician (CPhT, ExCPT).
  • Six months of previous pharmacy experience preferred.
