We are seeking a skilled Painter I to join our team at Belcan in Williamsburg, VA. As a Painter I, you will be responsible for performing industrial wet painting and powder coat painting processes on production materials in accordance with specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform industrial wet painting and powder coat painting processes on production materials in accordance with specifications.
- Prepare material for painting by mixing coatings in proper quantities and viscosities; unpack, clean, move, and adjust products as necessary using routing machines.
- Thoroughly clean all painting equipment as required to maintain proper working conditions.
- Ensure quality expectations are met by reviewing order documents, painted products, and verifying quality checklist are complete.
- Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment, operation of equipment/booth/filters, and verifying all safety actions prior, during, and post painting are complete.
- Maintain all 5S standards within the work-area cleaning, organizing, and sustaining applicable Lean initiatives.
- Perform flexible production assignments as required by the operation as volumes shift.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Minimum 1-year experience in an industrial manufacturing environment using Industrial wet/powder paint system.
- Previous working knowledge of industrial airless and/or air pressure painting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain medical clearance for respirator use required for the painting operation.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle and feel. The employee is frequently required to climb and reach above shoulder level. The employee is regularly required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds. Saturday and daily overtime is required frequently.
