Job Title: Mobile Critical Care Paramedic

HealthTeam Critical Care Transport is a not-for-profit shared service of Cabell Huntington Hospital, Charleston Area Medical Center, and WVU Medicine, dedicated to ensuring the safe and reliable transport of patients.

As a Mobile Critical Care Paramedic, you will provide Class I or II level life support services to critically-ill and/or injured patients as part of an integrated transport team.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver critical care services under the stresses of ground transport
  • Exposure to blood/body fluids, in sometimes hazardous conditions, near moving mechanical parts and within high noise environments
  • Utilize training and resources to mitigate risk
  • Perform advanced skills as permitted by applicable regulations and the HealthTeam Critical Care Transport Medical Director
  • Act on safety concerns and hazardous conditions
  • Report safety concerns and hazardous conditions in a timely manner
  • Complete complex clinical patient assessments
  • Provide patient stabilization using established clinical care guidelines and skill set
  • Liaise with peers and other professionals to ensure quality delivery of care and operational safety
  • Select, check, and maintain equipment/supplies found on ambulance vehicles
  • Possess basic computer skills with flexibility to utilize new software/hardware sets
  • Keep current all required licenses, certifications, and continuing education programs
  • Complete all required clinical, operational, and performance improvement documentation
  • Communicate educational needs to the leadership team
  • Collect statistical data as required
  • Participate in committee and marketing/outreach activities as required
  • Follow standards of conduct and procedures developed by HealthTeam Critical Care Transport
  • Follow standards developed by appropriate governmental bodies
  • Be willing to work beyond the end of scheduled shift, on unscheduled days, and at any base location as required allowing for service availability
