Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for PRN to join our team of skilled home health care providers at Pinnacle Home Care Inc.

About the Role:

This role involves delivering therapeutic exercises, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare team members to enhance patient recovery and functional performance in home settings under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assist in development and implementation of the interdisciplinary client care plan as it pertains to Physical Therapy; Treats clients to relieve pain, develop or restore functional and maintain maximum performance, using physical means such as exercise, massage, heat, light and electricity;
  • Patient Education: Teaches, supervises, and counsels the family and client in the physical therapy program; Instructs client in care and use of adaptive devices such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes and prosthetic and orthotic devices;
  • Documentation: Records on a timely basis all treatments, and client's response to therapy intervention Also records quality assurance data; Communicates with PT and other team members when appropriate. Instructs them in certain phases of physical therapy that they may use while working with the client;
  • Team Collaboration: Participates in case conferences, physical therapy staff meetings, agency activities and in-service programs as necessary; Participates in effective coordination of schedule to ensure all reassessments are performed in a timely manner;

Requirements:

  • Licensure: Must be licensed by the State as a Physical Therapist Assistant;
  • Education: Must be a graduate of an approved school giving a course of not less than two years for Physical Therapist Assistants;
  • Experience: Must have one year of experience in an acute/sub-acute setting;
  • Skills: The ability to drive and the ability to access clients' homes, which may not be routinely wheelchair accessible are required; Hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity must be sufficient to perform a physical assessment of the client's condition and to perform client care;

Salary: $45-$55 per hour depending on location and experience, estimated annual salary: $93,000 - $114,400 based on 20 hours/week.
