Truck Switcher

We are seeking a skilled Truck Switcher to join our team at Federal Express Corporation. As a Truck Switcher, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers to and from the unload/load doors and throughout the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform trailer switches, including hooking and moving parked trailers from the yard to load/unload doors or vice versa.
• Communicate with management and/or central control to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Document trailer moves using the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Understand and demonstrate effective yard switching safety processes and procedures.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL - Class A) to operate in interstate commerce.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment, such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes, and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Working Conditions:
