Daughters of Charity Ministries, Inc. is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at St. Joseph House in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
About the Role:As a PRN Nurse, you will assist in the planning and delivery of nursing care to the Sisters of St. Joseph House, following standards and practices grounded on the philosophy of the Daughters of Charity.
Responsibilities:- Assist in the provision of individualized, goal-directed nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other members of the patient care team.
- Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with each Sister-resident.
- Assist in determining current and potential needs and/or problems of the Sister residents to create a plan of care for each Sister based on her individual needs.
- Report pertinent data and observations through an established system of communication.
- Follow procedures for charting to ensure the maintenance of accurate and complete patient records.
- Implement nursing actions according to established care plans.
- Participate in change of shift report.
- Receive and carry out patient care nursing interventions following established protocol/procedures.
- Execute orders for specific procedures and treatments as prescribed.
- Accreditation from an approved program for Registered Nurses.
- Valid Maryland RN or LPN License.
- Minimum of one year related experience.
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply concepts of Person Respected Care to those we serve.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
The PRN Nurse will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively. The nurse will also be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Compensation:The pay range for this position is up to $42.44 per hour.
