Position Overview
The certified Physician Assistant plays a vital role within our dedicated team, providing essential services that uphold our standards of care and organizational values. This position is ideal for a self-driven individual eager to enhance their skill set and broaden their clinical expertise. Responsibilities include acting as the first assistant in the ASC operating room, delivering clinic-based care, and managing post-operative care. Candidates with experience in Total Joint procedures will find this role particularly suitable.
Key Responsibilities
The Physician Assistant's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
- Welcoming and identifying patients while accurately documenting their medical history and physical examination.
- Conducting thorough health assessments and formulating patient care plans.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and treatments within the scope of practice.
- Prescribing medications, dietary plans, and necessary medical supplies.
- Administering medications and performing wound care, including casting and dressing changes.
- Providing education and counseling to patients regarding their treatment plans.
- Maintaining precise and comprehensive medical records.
- Acquiring and maintaining proficiency in specific surgical procedures.
- Participating in hospital rounds, including patient care and documentation.
- Optional involvement in trauma call coverage and emergency room evaluations.
- Initiating Basic/Advanced life support in emergencies.
- Advocating for patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
- Engaging in continuous learning to enhance clinical skills.
- Building effective relationships with supervising physicians.
- Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Current Washington State Physician Assistant License.
- Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: Two years of surgical experience.
- Advanced physical assessment and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical procedures and standards of care.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Resourcefulness in problem-solving and adaptability to change.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence.
