Position Overview

The certified Physician Assistant plays a vital role within our dedicated team, providing essential services that uphold our standards of care and organizational values. This position is ideal for a self-driven individual eager to enhance their skill set and broaden their clinical expertise. Responsibilities include acting as the first assistant in the ASC operating room, delivering clinic-based care, and managing post-operative care. Candidates with experience in Total Joint procedures will find this role particularly suitable.

Key Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant's responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Welcoming and identifying patients while accurately documenting their medical history and physical examination.
  • Conducting thorough health assessments and formulating patient care plans.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Prescribing medications, dietary plans, and necessary medical supplies.
  • Administering medications and performing wound care, including casting and dressing changes.
  • Providing education and counseling to patients regarding their treatment plans.
  • Maintaining precise and comprehensive medical records.
  • Acquiring and maintaining proficiency in specific surgical procedures.
  • Participating in hospital rounds, including patient care and documentation.
  • Optional involvement in trauma call coverage and emergency room evaluations.
  • Initiating Basic/Advanced life support in emergencies.
  • Advocating for patients and collaborating with healthcare teams.
  • Engaging in continuous learning to enhance clinical skills.
  • Building effective relationships with supervising physicians.
  • Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
  • Current Washington State Physician Assistant License.
  • Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Current CPR and BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: Two years of surgical experience.
