Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Milliken Hand Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional care to patients with hand and upper extremity conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation and treatment services in a Hand/Upper Extremity therapy clinic, including follow-up services to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Fabricate custom orthoses to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Plan and coordinate patient care, prioritizing tasks and managing a caseload of 8-10 clinical visits per day.
  • Complete all aspects of clinical documentation, including billing and other assigned tasks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Orient and instruct occupational therapy assistants and students in patient-related activities, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Participate in program development and implementation activities, contributing to the growth and improvement of our services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or equivalent.
  • Occupational Therapist licensure in Illinois and Missouri.
  • Strong knowledge of hand therapy and custom orthotic fabrication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds from floor to waist and carry 10 pounds for short distances, push and pull occasionally with moderate force.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Documented experience practicing Hand/Upper Extremity therapy or completion of a Level II Fieldwork experience in a Hand/Upper Extremity setting under the supervision of a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).
  • Documented experience fabricating custom orthoses.
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
What We Offer

Washington University in St. Louis offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 to $105,500 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time. Additionally, we offer competitive health insurance packages, a forgivable home loan of up to $12,500 for closing costs and a down payment, and a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan.
