Obstetric Medicine Specialist

Lebanon, New Hampshire, United States Dartmouth Health Full time
Overview

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is in search of an Obstetric Medicine Specialist to become a part of our esteemed practice located in the picturesque Upper Valley of New Hampshire. This role presents a unique opportunity to integrate into a well-established and dynamic practice within the realm of academic medicine. The selected physician will qualify for an academic appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine. This position is structured as a 0.8 cFTE, equating to four full working days each week.

Our division currently comprises six board-certified MFM specialists, collaborating closely with our Generalist Division, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Complex Family Planning, and the Midwifery team, alongside six clinic-based APRNs.

We manage approximately 1,300 deliveries annually and facilitate maternal transports across Northern New England.

Our consultative services extend to several community group practices affiliated with the Dartmouth Health system, as well as other non-affiliated practices.

Our division also includes board-certified genetic counselors.

In this capacity, the physician will deliver care to high-risk obstetric patients across outpatient, inpatient, and labor and delivery environments.

As a large tertiary-care hospital and academic medical center, responsibilities will encompass teaching residents and medical students, in addition to engaging in research initiatives.

We are particularly focused on enhancing our fetal diagnosis and obstetrical ultrasound program; thus, experience with procedures such as chorionic villus sampling is highly desirable.

Our community serves a diverse patient demographic, and we have established a robust team dedicated to addressing various social determinants of health.

Dartmouth Health is committed to cultivating a diverse and inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and trainees to effectively meet the needs of our patient populations.

We encourage applicants to articulate in their cover letter how their research, service, teaching, and/or life experiences equip them to further Dartmouth Health's dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Dartmouth Health system spans New Hampshire and Vermont, offering a quintessential New England experience.

With no income tax or sales tax, this beautiful region merges history, industry, and business, consistently ranking as one of the best places in the US to live and work.

Anchored by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the system encompasses the NCI-designated Dartmouth Cancer Center, a leading children's hospital, four affiliated hospitals, and 30 Dartmouth Health ambulatory clinics throughout the region.

With proximity to destinations like Boston, New York, the seacoast, and ski areas, the opportunities—both professional and personal—make New Hampshire an ideal location for work and leisure.
