Refrigeration Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Jennie-O Turkey Store. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our industrial ammonia refrigeration plant.

• Provide safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment in the industrial ammonia refrigeration plant.
• Support maintenance department projects and daily activities.
• Provide functional support to other departments as needed.

• Second Class B boiler license or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Knowledge and experience with the safe operation and maintenance of refrigeration equipment using ammonia, Freon, or carbon dioxide as refrigerants.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Good attendance.
• Able to work well with a group or alone on any shift required.
• Continuous demonstration of safe and efficient work habits.
• Good oral and written communication and planning skills.
• Able to work in cold, wet, or hot environments and able to lift 60 pounds.
• Ability to work with heights and confined spaces.
• Must be able to pass a lung function test to be certified to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus or gas mask.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Two years vo-tech training or four years experience in industrial maintenance and refrigeration.
• One year working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration theory and design.
• Second Class B Boiler license or higher.
