Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at Whitcraft. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading process improvements by learning and applying Kaizen Tools, Principles, Thinking, and Methods to enhance the flow of parts, information, and people while ensuring safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead or support process improvements by identifying and eliminating waste from manufacturing processes to facilitate one-piece flow, ensure quality, and safety.
  • Design and fabricate solutions to develop and implement right-size solutions to facilitate one-piece flow.
  • Provide creative and innovative hands-on solutions to facilitate easier work methods for operators.
  • Learn and apply Kaizen tools to support manufacturing processes and flow lines.
  • Communicate and present ideas, improvements, and accomplishments to colleagues, motivating, coaching, and mentoring team members and others throughout the company.
  • Project management from start to finish, including project development, implementation, and review.
  • Work in a team-based environment and individual projects.
  • Process improvements, including people, material, and information flow, mistake proofing, quick change fixturing, standardization, quick and hands-free clamping, and hands-free loading and unloading.
  • Travel to other Pursuit sites to participate and lead Kaizen workshops.
  • Operate manual lathes, mills, saws, press brakes, and welding machines, as well as all power tools, as part of design and fabrication.
Requirements:
  • Must be self-motivated, result-oriented, with a sense of urgency and adaptability.
  • Understanding of mechanical, components, machine design, and building.
  • Mechanical, wiring, plumbing, including pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum of a college degree or significant work experience equivalent, engineering preferred.
Work Environment:

Primarily a shop floor environment.

Additional Comments:
  • Kaizen knowledge and experience preferred.
  • CAD knowledge preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of the following machines, such as manual lathes, mills, saws, press brakes, welding machines, and all power tools, is preferred.
