Job Overview:

Salary:$24 - $26.25/hour

About the Job: As a Club J Teacher, you will design and implement structured programs for children in grades K-6 at our licensed after-school program. This is a year-round position that also includes transitioning to the J-Camp summer program when school is not in session.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead engaging learning experiences for school-age children in individual and group settings.
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to provide a consistent learning environment that promotes emotional, cognitive, social and physical growth in children.
  • Supervise children during daily activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Record attendance, maintain accurate records and adhere to Community Care Licensing Regulations to maintain accreditation status.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, address concerns and questions promptly, and inform the Club J Director when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, OFJCC policies and procedures, including COVID-19 Health & Safety requirements.
  • Pick up children from various schools and transport them safely back to Club J as assigned.


Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience teaching in a licensed child care center or comparable program preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in youth program development preferred.
  • 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development (CD) units or units recognized by Community Care Licensing as qualifying in an afterschool setting or Associate Teacher Permit or Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing.
  • Valid California Driver License.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities when required.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm about working in a non-profit environment.
  • Cleared Background Check (Fingerprints, Child Abuse Index Check and Medical/TB exam).
  • Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certified.
