We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Main Operating Room at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgeries, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Anticipate and prioritize surgeon needs, communicating effectively with the RN Circulator to obtain necessary resources.
- Manage technical equipment and supplies, including inventory, usage, organization, and maintenance.
- Independently function in at least one other specialty area, demonstrating expertise and adaptability.
- Responsible for technical equipment and supplies, including instrument, sponge, and sharp counts.
- Assist and/or follow direction of the RN Circulator to set up a room and obtain equipment.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the NCCT is required.
- Or has current licensure as an LPN in lieu of certifications.
- At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
- One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
