Job Summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to assist with single and multi-discipline projects in our Memphis, Tennessee Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy industrial engineering projects, preferably in the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries.

The Structural Engineer will perform a variety of tasks, including field engineering and structural inspections, engineering studies, calculations, detailed design documents and specifications, project cost estimates, and providing installation support services. The candidate will also be responsible for performing analytical modeling of structures and components of structures utilizing STAAD software, reviewing calculations, drawings, and reports produced by other structural engineers in the office, and developing, maintaining, and upgrading technical standards/specifications to be used on specific projects.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university, three years of prior professional experience, and experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or foundation design. Working knowledge of STAAD analytical software or equivalent is also required. Exposure to the Metals, Midstream Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemical and/or Utilities & Power Generation industries is preferred.
