Position Overview: A2H is currently in search of a Senior Civil Engineer for our Lakeland, TN office, who possesses robust design and project management expertise. The ideal candidate will undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee project management and engineering design for civil engineering initiatives.
  • Manage and contribute to all stages of various civil engineering projects, including design development, preparation of presentation drawings and specifications, design review, and coordination of construction documents.
  • Facilitate project team coordination to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in construction documentation, specifications, and during construction administration.
  • Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and agencies to cultivate strong professional relationships.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including meeting notes, financial records, client correspondence, and project schedules.
  • Prepare and verify the accuracy of technical documents through Quality Assurance reviews at various project phases.
  • Exhibit proven leadership capabilities along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participate in planning, cost estimation, and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Engage in marketing and business development activities, including the creation of project proposals and providing technical expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year institution.
  • Registered Engineer; licensure in the state of Tennessee is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to obtain professional engineering registration in multiple states.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a civil engineer.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally and build excellent interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in client interactions and team leadership.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation; skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
