About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our dynamic team at Tetra Tech. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out duties with a primary focus on safety and quality, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Understand and apply both metric and imperial measurement systems in a practical setting.
  • Complete accurate and detailed timecards, expense reports, and other job-related documentation.
  • Analyze and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations, and industry publications to stay up-to-date with best practices.
  • Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment, machines, wiring, and computer program issues.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of direct current electricity, alternating current electricity, and electronics.
  • Effectively communicate with managers, clients, and colleagues to provide clear and concise information.
  • Lead teams, train new employees, and complete reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of four years of electrical or mechanical experience, or equivalent certification from an accredited Wind Academy or trade school.
  • Excellent electrical and mechanical skills, with knowledge of turbine-related machinery and tools.
  • Understanding of circuit boards, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, and relevant applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, work instructions, and manuals.
  • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and fit-to-drive record, with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and travel for training and company functions up to 10%.
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of lifting at least [insert weight] pounds.
  • Capable of bending, twisting, and lifting items overhead.
  • Capable of climbing a wind tower up to 400 feet in height up to three times daily.
Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience, as well as safety, electrical, and mechanical certifications relevant to the position.

A pre-employment drug screen and physical are required, in compliance with federal regulations.
