The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Part-Time Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team in the Parks and Recreation department. As a key member of our natatorium facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our patrons, while also providing exceptional customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations of our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce Safety Protocols: Safeguard patrons by enforcing rules and regulations, providing assistance when necessary, and setting up and tearing down equipment for daily and special event use.
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Deliver a high level of service to swimmers, customers, and facility users, including members, class members, facility rentals, and school district and club athletes and coaches.
  • Monitor Facility Operations: Participate in enforcing safety policies and procedures, initiate rescues, administer First Aid and/or CPR as needed, and perform daily maintenance functions, including cleaning deck, restrooms, grounds, and building.
  • Pool Chemical Management: Check and log pool chemicals every two hours to ensure pools are safe for swimming.
  • Facility Preparation: Insert and remove lane lines as needed, ensuring lanes are marked for current reservations throughout the day.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years of age.
  • Experience: Some experience as a lifeguard or closely related experience.
  • Certifications: Valid Texas Driver License, American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED, and First Aid.
