Position Overview:
Support the procurement team with various purchasing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research, assess, and acquire products.
- Ensure suppliers meet product specifications and delivery timelines while upholding quality standards.
- Manage order placements and oversee inventory distribution.
- Identify optimal sourcing options.
- Draft purchase orders and verify their accuracy and completeness prior to issuance.
- Review confirmations for alignment with purchase orders and address any discrepancies to benefit the organization.
- Follow up on orders as needed to adhere to schedules.
- Keep the Purchasing Manager updated on all activities or issues and provide reports as required.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and supply additional order documentation as necessary.
- Establish an efficient system for tracking all active purchase orders.
- Collaborate with the inventory management team to ensure all deliveries meet the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing items.
- Assist in organizing and implementing strategies directed by a buyer or purchasing manager to support small business and disadvantaged business sourcing initiatives in line with company policies.
- Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
1-3 years in a procurement or purchasing role.
