Primary Responsibilities
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for delivering comprehensive health services to all students while adhering to established departmental protocols and standards that comply with all regulatory requirements. This role involves collaborating with the Wellness Department to provide health services, support, and education aimed at enhancing student employability and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The CNS ensures that quality health services are provided in a professional, compassionate, and cost-effective manner, with a focus on wellness and disease prevention. Additionally, the CNS will assist in ensuring that students with disabilities receive the necessary accommodations.
Key Duties Include:
- Supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs).
- Administering prescribed medications.
- Conducting physical assessments for all new enrollees.
- Managing the inventory of medical supplies and medications.
- Documenting medical records for all students receiving care.
- Ensuring follow-up care for students as directed by medical professionals.
- Maintaining a log of all patients treated in the infirmary.
- Initiating and monitoring health improvement programs.
- Working towards achieving performance goals set for the position.
- Adhering to established safety and housekeeping protocols.
- Participating in regular staff meetings and training sessions.
- Demonstrating the core values and operational principles of the organization.
- Addressing student health concerns and referring them to the Health & Wellness Director when necessary.
- Encouraging students to enhance their employability through ongoing support.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience or training is required.
Education:
Registered Nurse with at least an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Must possess an active, unrestricted nursing license in the state of employment.
Certifications:
- State Professional Nurse License (RN); Current BLS/CPR certification; Valid State Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:
