Position Overview:

This role involves preparing patients and conducting standard MRI procedures as per physician directives and established protocols. You will be responsible for producing clear and accurate images, which will be presented alongside relevant comparison studies and other essential information to the Radiologist for prompt analysis.

Your contributions will support the overarching mission, vision, and values of Mary Washington Healthcare, ensuring that we deliver quality service to our patients, their families, and the community.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for MRI scans by confirming physician orders, verifying identities, and gathering comprehensive medical histories to ensure appropriate examinations.
  • Conduct MRI examinations across all patient demographics while maintaining clinical proficiency through annual competency evaluations.
  • Follow departmental protocols and standards to guarantee effective operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to all patients, visitors, and colleagues, addressing their needs with efficiency and confidentiality.
  • Maintain a safe environment by adhering to MRI safety protocols and educating others about safety practices.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, ensuring availability and continuity of services.
  • Document patient and procedural data accurately to facilitate timely billing and operational efficiency.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives utilizing a structured approach to enhance MRI services.
  • Stay proficient in relevant Radiology and organizational information management systems.

Qualifications:

A minimum of six months of relevant experience is required, with at least three months in MRI or successful completion of a cross-training program. Certification in CPR from the American Heart Association is mandatory. Advanced certification by the ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI must be obtained within one year of employment.
