Job SummaryThis position serves as a key member of the Engineering Service team at the Stockton Facility for the VA Northern California Healthcare System (VANCHCS). The successful candidate will be responsible for handling contract-related services, product acquisition, and procurement of items, as well as assisting with contracts, including pre-award and post-award activities.
Key Responsibilities- Procure items for maintenance, including parts and general supplies, as well as specific checkpoint devices in support of expansion or management of the overall system and/or services and software.
- Conduct discussions with contractors for contract issues and attend meetings with Government and contractor personnel to furnish recommended solutions to contractual problems.
- Prepare procurement packages, including development of requirement documents, cost benefit analysis, gap analysis, sole source justifications, past performance, market research, and other relevant information.
- Monitor expenditures and report on deviations from contract terms.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in contract management and procurement.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and Government personnel.
The work is primarily sedentary in nature, requiring occasional travel to conduct inspections of contract facilities or motor vehicles providing contracts for healthcare resources to ensure joint commission and safety requirements are met.
