Job Overview:
As a Cook I, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all preparation items are meticulously prepared and stored according to established specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the quality and consistency of all food served.
- Complete all tasks 30 minutes prior to service.
- Understand and adhere to all standard recipes.
- Ensure timely availability of all necessary food supplies for service.
- Prepare a variety of sweet items, including pastries, cakes, breads, and chocolates for various outlets and events.
- Keep the walk-in, prep area, and equipment compliant with Health Department standards at all times.
- Assist in the production and presentation of banquet pastries.
- Work efficiently under pressure to meet production schedules.
- Organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks effectively.
- Create visually appealing and artistic food presentations.
- Perform job functions with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate effectively with the culinary team.
- Adhere to food preparation handling and storage standards.
- Support procedures for food and beverage portion control and waste management.
- Follow proper food handling and temperature protocols.
- Execute additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Ability to think clearly, remain calm, and resolve issues with sound judgment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Basic math skills for recipe and measurement comprehension.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Exhibit a professional appearance, attitude, and performance.
- Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 70 pounds without assistance. Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
