Aerotek is seeking an Automotive Technician to join a reputable manufacturing organization, offering a competitive salary ranging from $24 to $34 per hour. This position is a long-term, direct hire opportunity that includes benefits.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A family-oriented, performance-driven transportation company dedicated to exceptional customer service, employee satisfaction, safety, and diligence. We specialize in hauling a variety of materials including Asphalt, Agricultural products, Chemicals, Dry Bulk, Petroleum, and Propane.
As a lead service technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical repairs to ensure that transport trucks and other company vehicles operate at optimal performance levels and are maintained in safe working order.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
1st shift: 7am - 3:30pm
2nd shift: 3pm - 11:30pm
3rd shift: 11:00pm - 8:00am
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess vehicle condition through inspections and diagnostic evaluations; identify worn or damaged components.
- Review, complete, or delegate repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Conduct safety inspections on vehicles.
- Recognize and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to diagnose failure modes and initiate repairs.
- Maintain vehicle aesthetics and confirm vehicle performance.
- Control costs by leveraging warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Stay informed about job skills and the latest industry trends through ongoing education and training.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective problem solver with hands-on experience.
- Detail-oriented and methodical in approach.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment related to vehicle repair.
- Capability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle components.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience or technical training in a service-related field is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand and lean for extended periods.
- Frequent walking.
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency with hand tools and other repair equipment.
