Job Summary

The University of Pittsburgh seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Police Officer - Academy to join our team. As a Police Officer - Academy, you will be responsible for gaining the necessary skills to successfully graduate from the Police Academy and attain MPOETC certification. You will accompany police officers in conducting patrols, enforcing laws, and responding to calls. You will develop and enhance skills and understanding of laws, policies, and procedures. You will also recruit potential candidates, provide program information, and attend promotional events.

Essential Functions
  • Gaining the necessary skills to successfully graduate from the Police Academy and attain MPOETC certification.
  • Accompanying police officers in conducting patrols, enforcing laws, and responding to calls.
  • Developing and enhancing skills and understanding of laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Recruiting potential candidates, providing program information, and attending promotional events.
Physical Effort

The Police Officer - Academy will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies. The position may also require working in a variety of weather conditions.
