Compensation:
$45 - $55 per hour.
Work Schedule: 1st shift, Monday - Friday, with flexible start times available.
Location:
This position is based in a vibrant city.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough screening and assessment of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens submitted for analysis to identify potential malignant or abnormal conditions.
• Perform evaluations of all liquid-based cytology, including both manual and imaged techniques, as well as traditional slides.
• Execute microscopic analysis of cytological specimens in accordance with established laboratory protocols and workload policies.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of workload activities, encompassing both screening and non-screening tasks as mandated by regulatory standards.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity in the accurate execution and reporting of results.
• Meet established slide screening criteria as per standard operating procedures.
• Accurately finalize testing results in the laboratory information system in a timely manner.
• Provide support for cytology processing and other duties as required.
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and confidentiality regulations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited Cytology program.
• ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) Certification is mandatory.
• Previous experience in Cytology is advantageous.
• ThinPrep and SurePath certifications are a plus.
• Must successfully meet slide screening requirements and annual proficiency assessments.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cytological preparation techniques.
• Experience with both automated and manual testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is beneficial.
• Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to pass a standardized color vision assessment.
