Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center for the accomplishment of project engineering packages.
  • Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
  • Compile and complete project documents.
  • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects.
  • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects.
  • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
  • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
  • Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.
Requirements
  • Civil Engineering Degree (B.S.) or similar. Minimum 4 years with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects.
  • Or a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
  • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET).
  • Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).
  • Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP).
  • Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.
