Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Derby, Kansas. This role is crucial in providing students with the support they need to overcome speech and language challenges, enhancing their overall educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language skills to identify areas of strength and weakness.
  • Design and implement personalized treatment plans to address individual student needs, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques.
  • Provide direct therapy to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, adapting to their unique needs and learning styles.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student development, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to student success.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of students' progress and therapy sessions, utilizing data-driven decision making to inform instruction.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress evaluations, ensuring that students' needs are met and progress is tracked.
  • Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology, applying this knowledge to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Active Kansas State License in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) licensure for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Prior experience in a school setting is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of educational settings and the needs of students with speech and language disorders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
