Job Summary

Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Hawthorne is seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our cardiovascular department, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up equipment for cardiac testing, explaining procedures to patients, and evaluating patient conditions throughout the test.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and set up equipment for cardiac testing, ensuring interpretable results
  • Explain methods and procedures to patients, evaluating their total condition throughout the test
  • Select and operate equipment as directed, recording and calculating necessary parameters and performing ECG tracings for diagnostic purposes
  • Set up and check equipment for cardiac testing, administering exams to patients and reviewing completed tests for quality, completeness, and type of test ordered
  • Participate in the coordination of ambulatory ECG monitor programs, sending records for billing and preparing Cardiology reports for physician evaluation
  • Perform tests with portable equipment in patient rooms when necessary, obtaining patient history and answering questions
  • Position patients comfortably, observing for unusual reactions or events and maintaining department records, reports, and files as required
  • Assist medical staff during special procedures and maintain records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients
Requirements:
  • RCIS or RCES certification
  • State license
  • 2 years of experience
