Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer to join our team at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating electrical systems for various projects, including facilities engineering and design projects in the educational, public works, water/wastewater, transportation, transit, health care, and aviation industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform design computations and develop construction cost estimates
  • Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
  • Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications, and estimates
  • Attend meetings with clients and coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • 5-10 years' experience related to electrical power distribution, power generation, motor controls, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm design, telecommunications network design, or security systems design
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Autodesk's CADD, and Autodesk's Revit
  • Proficient in discipline-specific design software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Bentley's Microstation, and Electrical Modeling Software
  • Familiarity with electrical testing apparatus and experience working with federal, state, and local government agencies
Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 90% of the time. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed. Regional travel (generally within 90 miles) will occasionally be required for meeting attendance, field survey, and construction verification activities.
